Everything is Connected…
My abstract paintings are born from an intuitive process where I arrive at the blank canvas with only a loose sketch or notion of the final outcome. I let the art take shape organically layering bold fields of color and layers of marks and at times, found paper into the composition.
My inspiration comes from the natural environment however it is less about mimicking its visual forms, and more about channeling its instinctual, rhythmic essence. I see nature as a mirror reflecting back insights of our shared human experience and the current status of the collective psyche. In turn, the work I create explores the parallels between literal and metaphorical landscapes and our inner terrain, organic patterns and the mind's ephemeral currents.
As I work, some compositions evoke natural forms like cellular structures, aerial landscapes or they may exude an abstract energetic force similar to waves, currents and wind. I embrace the textures and accidents that emerge through the layered creative process, allowing these imperfections to reveal new possibilities and highlight the beauty that can be found in life’s challenges or perceived flaws. The viewer is invited to meander through these abstract environments, finding their own meaning in each textured gesture, swathe of color and mark. My intuitive approach to art-making results in a profound connection between my spirit and creativity. By releasing expectations and trusting my instincts, I hope to create abstract environments that transport viewers into a contemplative headspace where they reflect on their inner nature and relationship to the world around them.
